Bollywood is in two extremes right now with the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Some are loudly praising it, while others are eerily silent about it. Either way, Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh are basking in the success of the duology. Sooraj Barjatya, who has made many successful films in the past, is also one to praise it.

It is very rare for movies to become as big as this one did. However, in the past, Sholay had done the impossible. So, it makes sense why many would compare it to the film.

When speaking with Screen, Sooraj Barjatya praised Dhurandhar and talked about how, while Bollywood is producing multiple genres of films, there are rarely films as perfect as this one. He even went on to say that it is perfect right after Sholay.

“As a filmmaker, whatever’s good is good. I think Dhurandhar is a perfect picture after Sholay. Every character is so well done. Hats off to Aditya.”

However, his praise didn’t end there. The filmmaker was also praising other films like Saiyaara. He argued that Bollywood shouldn’t constraint about just one type of film. The industry has a vast amount of genres that can be explored even further.

"All subjects should get made but this type of content is very important, so that we can tell the younger generation to trust, hope, and support each other, otherwise we’re all getting divided. Why should there be any loneliness?”

He further talked about how the younger generations that are exploring the industry and its genres could bring the change that Bollywood has been needing for a long time. Rather than fighting, harmonising could save the industry.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has earned over ₹1700 crores globally, with over ₹1000 crore being only from the domestic box office. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun and is directed by Aditya Dhar.
