Lucknow: Relief news for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)! The Lucknow team, which is at the bottom of the points table in the Indian Premier League 2026, has now got a strong batsman. Australia’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis has finally joined the team.
Inglis was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 8 crore 60 lakh in the IPL 2026 auction, but due to his marriage, he was not able to join the team in the initial matches. Josh is now completely free after marrying his fiancée Megan Kinquart on April 18, 2026 in Margaret River, Australia.
Lucknow Super Giants have played 8 matches so far, scoring only 4 points with only 2 wins and 6 losses. The team has lost 5 consecutive matches and is at the last position in the points table. Inglis’s inclusion is being considered a big boost for the team before the next match to be held on May 4.
Before this, Josh Inglis has played for Punjab Kings team. Last season, he scored 278 runs in 11 matches at an excellent strike rate of 162.57, which also included a half-century. Punjab had released him, after which Lucknow included him in their team by paying a heavy price.
The team management hopes that the arrival of Inglis will strengthen the middle order and finishing and Lucknow will be able to return to the race for the play-offs.
