The history of Bhangarh is usually traced back to the 16th century. It is believed that this fort and city were founded by Madho Singh, son of Raja Bhagwant Das, the ruler of Amer. Entry is not allowed after the stipulated time at this historical site which comes under the protection of Archaeological Survey of India i.e. ASI. Due to this rule, local folklore and ghost stories have included Bhangarh among the most mysterious tourist places of the country. However, there is no scientific evidence of supernatural activities taking place here at night.
