Yash Thakur Replaces Harshit Rana : Yash Thakur has got a chance in the Indian cricket team. Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the T20 series against Afghanistan and Asian Games 2026 due to being unfit. In his place, Yash Thakur has been included in the squad of the Indian cricket team for the three-match series against Afghanistan and the Asian Games. Information regarding this has been given by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI. BCI has posted on Facebook and informed about the inclusion of Yash Thakur in the team.

Yash Thakur got a chance in Team India

BCCI posted and wrote that, Yash Thakur was included in place of Harshit Rana in India's T20I team for Afghanistan T20I and Asian Games. Let us tell you that Harshit Rana was injured for a long time. He was working hard to gain fitness at the Center of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, but he is not completely fit yet. In such a situation, he has to be ruled out of the T20 series against Afghanistan as well as the Asian Games 2026.

Why was Harshit Rana out?

The men's selection committee has included Yash Thakur in place of Harshit Rana in India's squad for the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan and the 2026 Asian Games. Harshit Rana was making good progress during his rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE). He suffered a rectus femoris strain while bowling during a match simulation on 7 September and has since had to be ruled out.

Yash's debut was against Zimbabwe

After his exclusion, 27-year-old Vidarbha fast bowler Yash Thakur has been included in the team, who recently made his T20I debut during India's tour of Zimbabwe in July. He played two matches and took 4 wickets. He has participated in 50 matches of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, in which he has taken 81 wickets at an excellent economy rate of 7.04.
