Shudder has released a new trailer for its upcoming horror thriller The Cyclestarring Deborah Ann Woll. The trailer teases eerie forces, brutal killings, and a crime investigation that takes a supernatural turn.

“When the body of a man missing for thirty-six years is discovered at the scene of a horrific crime, it’s up to his estranged daughter to unravel his dark past,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

Best known for playing Karen Page in Marvel’s Daredevil series, Woll plays Meg in the upcoming horror film.

What happens in The Cycle trailer?

The trailer opens with a lone wooden house in a forest with rainstorm sounds in the background. Meg, played by Woll, wakes up after hearing a sound, seemingly in the middle of the night. She grabs a shotgun and follows the sound, only to be shocked by something off-screen. Then it shows her father saying, “It’s coming for me.”

The two-minute, 18-second trailer then introduces Woll’s character, Meg, a forensic anthropologist who explains the crime scene to fellow officers. A cop then reveals that three people were brutally murdered in a nearby town, including her father. Meg must search for the truth behind her father’s death, making it deeply personal as he has been missing for 36 years.

The footage then takes the story beyond a conventional crime investigation, with eerie imagery and terrifying encounters hinting at something far more sinister.

Directed by Jordan Downey, The Cycle stars Woll alongside Jeffrey Donovan, Will Hochman, Jack Doolan, and Carl W. Crudup. Other supporting roles, per IMDbinclude Gretchen Corbett, Phillip Andre Botello, Dana Millican, Jeb Berrier, and others.

As of writing, the movie holds a solid 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoesbased on 10 critic reviews.

The movie has a runtime of 111 minutes and will begin streaming on Shudder on October 23, 2026.
