New Delhi. Central employees and pensioners are waiting for the next increase in Dearness Allowance (DA). Based on AICPI-IW data for June 2026, a 3 percent DA increase is being estimated. If this increase is approved then DA may increase from the current 60% to 63%. However, the final rate will be announced only by the Central Government.

DA is decided from AICPI data

DA is calculated on the basis of 12 month average of AICPI-IW. The average index from July 2025 to June 2026 was 148.65, based on which the calculation comes to around 63.76% and is considered to be 63%.

How much can the salary increase?

If DA increases from 60% to 63%, there will be an increase of 3 percentage points. For example, an employee with a basic pay of ₹ 18,000 can get an additional ₹ 540 per month in DA. At the same time, on the basic pay of ₹ 35,400, this increase will be about ₹ 1,062 per month.

What was the last increase?

In April 2026, the Central Government had approved a 2% increase in DA with effect from January 1, 2026, after which the DA increased from 58% to 60%.

At present, the employees are keeping an eye on the official announcement of the government. Only after getting the approval, the actual rate of increased DA and information to payment will be clear.
