New Delhi:Delhi Traffic Police on Wednesday took a unique awareness initiative to spread the message of safe travel on the roads of the capital. Under the supervision of Eastern Range Traffic DCP Shweta Chauhan, Kalyanpuri Traffic Staff along with Road Safety Cell and Traffic Inspector Vinay Singh, playing an active role, organized a street play at Kondli and Sanjay Lake of Kalyanpuri Traffic Circle, near Trilokpuri Metro Station under the 'Safe Travels' road safety awareness program. The event was organized in collaboration with Yug Sanskriti Trust and Afcon Strabag.

Message of road safety in street drama

The street theater team gave such a message of road safety along with entertainment that passers-by and local people stopped for some time to watch the performance. Through their presentation, the artists effectively highlighted the dangers of rash, negligent driving, underage driving and ignoring traffic rules.

Number of participants and message in the program

About 170 people participated in the first program, while about 140 people participated in the second program. The artists explained that traffic rules are not just a matter of challan or law. Rather, it is to the life and responsibility of every person walking on the road.

Inspiring people to follow safety rules

During the program, people were motivated to wear helmets, follow traffic rules and be careful while driving. People appreciated the street play calling it informative, impactful and entertaining.
