Chandigarh: Haryana minister Vipul Goel announced that the state govt has approved ₹40 crore to carry out an archaeological excavation at Agroha Dham to unearth crucial facts about Maharaja Agrasen ’s legacy.




Speaking as the chief guest at the Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti celebrations organised by the Maharaja Agrasen Charitable Trust in Panipat , Goel said that the upcoming excavation would unveil a glorious new chapter in regional history.




Goel also highlighted key state initiatives honouring the community’s heritage, including naming the Hisar airport after Maharaja Agrasen and establishing state-level celebrations.




Addressing the gathering, the minister asserted that the community represents a culture rooted in service, cooperation, and social responsibility. He urged the youth to actively preserve their cultural heritage and carry Maharaja Agrasen’s ideals forward.




Drawing parallels between history and current policy, Goel remarked that Maharaja Agrasen’s vision of socialism and public welfare aligns with the state’s core philosophy.




The event featured the flagging off of a ceremonial procession and saw participation from BJP functionaries and trust representatives, including BJP state president Dr Archana Gupta, who lauded the Aggarwal community ’s humanitarian initiatives during the pandemic.
